At the peak of his fame, BERNIE FUCHS was more widely admired and imitated than any other illustrator of his day. Named "Artist of the Year" by the Artists Guild of New York at 30, he became in 1975 the youngest illustrator ever elected to the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame. His work ran in national ad campaigns and in McCall's, Redbook, Cosmopolitan, TV Guide and Sports Illustrated, and appeared in every Society of Illustrators annual from the first in 1959 through the rest of his career. This first major retrospective features over 300 illustrations, with rare photographs, drawings, original paintings and tear sheets.
