WALTER BAUMHOFER - PUBLISHER'S EDITION

ONLY FOUR COPIES LEFT!

Signed, with insert bookplate and slipcase. THIS EDITION IS NOT NUMBERED.

With every book I publish, I create a very small number of "Publisher's Editions" – books that are signed but not numbered, that come in a slipcase. I give these to family and friends, and usually keep the rest in my archive. Due to the number of requests I've received for Special Editions (which are now sold out), I have decided to sell a few of these copies from my stash.

This spectacular book is the first extensive biography concerning the life and work of pulp artist Walter Baumhofer, perhaps best known for his run of covers for the first 49 issues of Doc Savage in the 1930s. Pulp and illustration art historian David Saunders has produced the consummate reference book on the artist, filled with over 300 reproductions of original art, rare pulp magazine proof sheets, working drawings, reference photos, as well as historic family photos and a complete checklist of Baumhofer's published works. Hardcover with dust jacket, 9-in. x 12-in., 224 pages, full color. Presented in slipcase, with a signed full color bookplate. Not numbered, but marked with a "P" (for "Publisher's Edition.")
